In 2021, I gave a talk at the virtual Animal Behavior Society meeting on two of the three opponencies that are often referenced in the study of color vision. In this talk, I describe cone opponency, a mechanism by which cone signals are antagonistically compared and color opponency, a theory of how humans experience color.

I conclude with insights on how cone and color opponency may be related to each other.
