May 1st 2022
April 30th 2022
Join us for coffee, science, and birds in this springtime birding event! In case of rain, the event will be moved to Sunday. Please check back here on the website for updates on any date changes.

Itinerary
10:00 AM Start Time
WHAT’S HAPPENING AT PURDUE —We’ll start the event with brief presentations on the topics of ornithological research ongoing at Purdue University. During this time, you’ll be free to enjoy pour-over coffee and donuts from Mary Lou’s!

HIKE—Next is the main attraction—our birding hike! Experienced birders will guide two groups through the reserve (one light and one moderate trail) and help to identify any birds we see. Binoculars will be provided to anyone who doesn’t have their own pair!

UP-CLOSE—To get a chance to see different types of birds up close, we will have taxidermy skins from the FNR to view.

COMPETITIONS—Small prizes will be given out for three different games during the event. Anyone can participate in friendly game of BINGO based on birds spotted during the hike. Those with keen eyes and a camera or phone can submit pictures to our photo contest for pictures taken during the event. Finally, a free raffle will pick the winner of the third prize!
